As a good friend of mine would say, “this is the ish!” But seriously, this is an official banger alert. The swedes do it again. Check the script…
Taken from their myspace:
“What do you get if you put one producer and one vocalist (both with evil-scientist ambitions) in a studio for one day - and let them chop up and mix Aphex Twin with Justice, Throbbing Gristle with Karlheinz Stockhausen, Raymond Scott with Marcel Duchamp, Fela Kuti with Benga and Crookers with Iggy and The Stooges, Zapp and Roger Troutman (and tons of other sounds)?
You get: Flu Shot Mixtape.
A 37 minute long stream-of-consciousness from Anthony Mills & Olle Cornéer - the new duo Super Viral Brothers.
Take it down.
It will protect you against our times.”
Here’s a preview (goto their myspace page to snatch the whole mix)

If you enjoyed the Flying Lotus post a while back you’ll shit over Hudson Mohawke (aka HudMo). As Warp records latest signing, the label is beginning to show an affinity for new beat, a clanky off time shuffley hip-hop beat that’s caused it’s own movent. Pioneered stateside, this new generation beat has expanded to the UK where it’s been embraced by a growing scene of beat junkies, with HudMo leading the pack. If you doubt me just brace yourself…

Cousin Cole is one of those DJs you can’t turn your back on for a minute. Whenever I feel the blogosphere is overflowing with Bmore and mashup Ableton jocks, someone beans me with a curveball. Hunt down Cole’s already classic edit of Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m On Fire” to see what I mean. I’ve included his slow acid dub of Kanye’s “Champion”. The revved down bpm with that classic bass sound and heavy filtering just rubs me right. There’s a fast version out there, but why bother. Slower is funkier.

WOW…I’m not sure if this is “new” but it’s new to me and I think it might be new to most of you. This also might be some of the dopest beats I have ever heard. Check out the track below titled “Perisian Goldfish”…..ILL
From the Wiki:
Flying Lotus is commonly identified as a hip hop producer, but his style is drawn from many genres, including jazz, electronic and Brazilian music.
His hip hop beats are unique for their hazy, ambient sound, while his
percussion is purposefully slightly off time, creating a messier, more
organic atmosphere. Because of this, he is often likened to producers
such as Madlib, Jneiro Jarel and J Dilla despite the fact that all the mentioned musicians have distinctly unique styles.
Check him out on MYSPACE
I had the video up but it is pretty vulger so I took it down…but if you are interested pls click here for the direct link…funny video ps

L.A. resident Mr. Gaspar funks up street jams in all of his fat glory. Ok, ok, ok, it’s not nice to knock overweight people, but truth be known: plump djs GROOVE. Another DJ and I once theorized that if a beat can make a Samoan shake then the shit is hot. The rotund DJs know this; if they can dance to it anyone can. If you don’t believe me check out Mr. Gaspar’s Nelly rework below and pick up more at his myspace. Also, here’s my top 3 jelly-rolled jockeys of all time…
1. DJ Sneak
2. Boo Williams
3. Biz Markie (Sorry, DJ AM, you didn’t make the cut. Even if you’re on your deathbed you can’t act like you were never fat)

I’ve been bangin’ mixes and chop-ups of the notorious Soulja Girl for a while now and the crazy bitch is starting to work my nerves, but I’ve finally found a mix that works with all. It comes from the vaults of LA’s mash-up kings, Ludachrist. Head over to worshipludachrist.com and become a disciple. And if you’re unfamiliar with the YouTube all-star Soulja Girl then take a peek.

Who’d have thunk that the United Methodist Youth Organization could pull such bangin-ass remixes out their ass!? Just kidding. But not to be confused with the aformentioned get-up, UMYO (pronounced Ew-me-oh) are actually a DJ/remix duo from Sweden. Unfortunately I don’t know much else about them other than they like crunktified beats. You gotta love their treatment of Weezy’s Mrs. Officer. Blazin’ shit for your thirsty ears. Enjoy…
